Also acura tl are always a nice choice... The acura rl sh is amazing. Awd v6 has plenty of power and very comfortable. J series are great engines and last forever too. My buddy picked up a RL sh for 4500. Its stock 300 hp.

The GS300 has the 2JZ as well in a more luxurious vehicle that is more likely to have led an easier life, I'd say only get the IS300 if you want the rare manual option. Some other good considerations would be the 4th or 5th gen Maxima and the Mazda 626 and Mazda6. The Infiniti G35 sedan is getting pretty inexpensive these days, so that might be another option.
Really if you're going to get a sedan might as well do it right and get something with around 100 cubic feet of passenger volume or more. Something like the Civic and Corolla isn't any longer than the Celica, sure it has four doors so entry is easier but space isn't that much better. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

So after multiple conversations with family/friends...I consulted the wife on the issue. In a nutshell she said nope. Keep the car, fix it for now and do whatever to it later. While im fixing it up get a beater to DD and call it good. This was her familys car that she drove while we were dating, and since I bought it (is was heading for a donation/tax write off) ive invested too much time and money into the car to just let it go. Somehow I think she might be more attached to it than I am.
So now that I have the go ahead to do whatever I want, I am weighing my options on what engine to drop into it, finishing the suspension (all I really need to do is replace bushings, and install possibly coilovers). The cash I had saved for the other car went into something else and im pretty much back at square one. |
