that sucks... and that's why I'm afraid to take mine off to replace the tape too. one of my sides didn't go on correctly and has been lifting ever since I got it. Could never get myself to attempt retaping it.
they do pop up on ebay once in a while. the repro ones. but haven't seen them posted up in a while. -------------------- *1997 Celica ST - 3SGE Greytop BEAMS *1977 Celica RA29 - Classic Cruiser *2005 Matrix AWD - dedded but still hanging around like a ghost 2019 Rav4 XLE Premium - Sports mode is fun. |

Could never get myself to attempt retaping it. Just take your time and be very gentle. I contacted the guy selling them on ebay and he's going to let me know the moment a new batch come in. I'm considering buying an OEM one but this time i wouldn't have it painted but rather paint my riser blocks gunmetal grey.they do pop up on ebay once in a while. the repro ones. but haven't seen them posted up in a while. |

I've actually purchased that same one off eBay... I returned it. The quality isn't very good. The curve isn't that deep as it looks in the picture. I didn't mount it i tapped it down still in the plastic took 2 steps back and me and my gf started laughing because it looks sooooo bad. I'd advise you to try and find a different one.

Fitment for the oem one isnt that much better. Had one and it took a lot of trial and error to make sure it was sitting flush (a lot of flexing).

The original one i bought fit great, the tape just didn't last long. I lined everything up but i dont think i cleaned the area well enough for the tape to adhere. So the next one im going to use my own 3m strips. I either just want to find a cheap one i can paint white to match my old one or find a good quality one and change my color scheme to red/gunmetal.
Any leads to find one would be much appreciated. |
