I blew my rad on my 2.2 GT, and I am wondering what type of thermostat to get. I am looking at the moto-rad high flow or fail safe, also the Stant thermostats look good. Should I or do I need a fail safe thermostat or should I go with the high flow one?

As for the sensor at the bottom of the Radiator (mine broke off). I'm not sure which one it is? is it the sender switch? or the coolant temp sensor?

anything else I should get because of the engine potentially over heating? besides the Radiator... which is on its way!

Thanks

I'd go dealer for the thermostat, sensor, and gaskets. The sensor may cost more at the dealer but the thermostat and gasket aren't that much more expensive. After market might be OK for the sensor, I think it's just a fan switch anyway.

I was thinking of going with the high flow since I upgraded the engine with 264 delta cams. But you think OEM is best? Any one else got a opinion on this?

I had no irregular cooling issues with my OEM thermostat when I had cams in the 5S.

I also had a mishimoto rad, thats the only cooling "upgrade"

Did the mishimoto rad make a noticeable differance? I was thinking of buying a 2 core aluminum rad but I cheaped out and just got a regular one after reading the write up on installing a radiator.

I ended up buying everthing off rock auto. Got a stant high flow thermostat. Their website was very convincing. My temp gauge is always a little on the hot side just above half way. What's you temp gauge read when is warm?

I have the Mishi radiator and thermostat on my 3S and am very happy all around.

I get most of my parts from them especially brake pads. Cannot beat their prices on certain items.

stop over thinking this! You dont need any upgraded cooling. Between my V6 and 3S-GTE, the OEM stuff works perfectly fine.

its a temp sensor on the bottom of the radiator, well its actually a temp switch.
