I just picked up a nice condition 98 convertible and am trying to make things waterproof again. The rear side windows don't go up as high as the front windows. Is there some type of adjustment somewhere to help with this? Also the black rubber seals that are at the bottom of these windows when they are up are torn. Can those be replaced?

your bushings may be the problem. they break with the years. check if they are intact...

I plan to get the back seat and rear plastic panels removed this weekend so I can check things out. As the windows work fine (smooth up and down) I was hopeful it might just be an adjustment to get things lined up better.

Hey Cosa! Did you get a chance to poke at the rear window? I'm going to poke around on my vert as well. I've noticed that the left rear window, when all the way up, is compressed. If I put it down just a hair, it lines up perfectly. I'll post pics later.

Also, your roof latches - do they sit flush with the groove at the roof thing?

I ended up picking up a new right side sub assembly and spent the long weekend installing and getting things lined up. It's a bear of a job. I had one broken bushing on that side and one partially damaged one. I removed the one good bushing and used it to repair the left side which had one broken bushing in the middles position. It took forever to get things regulated properly to make a decent seal with he roof and front windows but it's done now. Boy are my hands sore. I'll have to check on the latches for you.
