Just got everything back together after doing the manual swap to my 95. Hooked up the battery and tried to fire it up.... no luck. Car cranks over just fine, but will not start. I did switch the ecu with the manual ecu out of a 99 gt. Don't know if that would have anything to do with it or not. It just plugged right in. Can't think of why it won't start. Anyone have any ideas????

Are you not getting fuel or spark? There's a circuit opening relay on the side of the ECU. Try swapping that out with the old COR. However, I'd put my money on it being the crank position sensor. The '99 Celica uses a crankshaft position sensor that your '95 won't have.

If it is the crank position sensor, how would I fix that issue? Just swap the ecu back?

Try the 95 ecu and it should still start. And richie is right, 99 models use a crank angle sensor, 95 do not, they run off the dizzy only. So if ur using a 99 ecu, it relies on the crank angle sensor for the engine to fire ignition, it wont spark without the sensor basically

Switch the ecu back. Started right up!! So I'll be fine just leaving in my original ecu then?

it will run the car fine, but you will get a CEL for auto codes. look for a 95 MT ECU.
