Here's videos of my first AutoX event ever. Driven in my one and only 97 Celica GT. Ran 4th out of 9 cars in the "Novice" level. Got 45th out of 69 cars out of every car that participated. I enjoyed it and loved it. Can't wait to take my car back out there again. Oh and I was the only TOYOTA out there and one of couple FWD cars. Lol.

Looks awesome! I've done autocross a couple times in a friends EK Civic and its a blast! Always wanted to do it in the celica but never got around to it due to its age, being a daily, and not wanting to break anything.

Did you have to drop down to first at all? (I had to watch without sound at work) That was always one of my concerns aobut auto xing it, was having trouble shifting to first if needed.

Yea its slightly different out here.
Being in a small city, the only facility we have to use is an old air striip, so its essentially a start perpendicular to the landing strip, a left or right turn, into some sort of slalom combo, into a uturn all the way back, another u turn and thne finish. Space is limited, but theres a lot of use for 1st gear, which is even difficult at slow speeds in our cars. I coudn't imagine in a race environment.

Just did some hard braking. Heel toe in my car with hard braking and downshift into 1st went in smoothly

Nice run, welcome to the addiction. Looks like you have a good idea of lines and braking points already. Don't curse the cones too much trying to refine them. smile.gif

FWIW from the video I would not have downshifted to first even there, but I didn't walk or run the course so that opinion is invalid. Looks like a really awkwardly placed corner and a very anticlimactic ending.
