What do you guys think? Also any insights on the 4th gen 3sgte? How much power can the rods handle? I'm not planning on building or making any power over 300fwhp.

The 4th gen does have weaker rods than the 3rd gen, but will hold 300 whp just as well as the 3rd gen. This forum is by far the worst I've seen about "parroting" information. One person says they heard something and from then on others repeat it and it's accepted as fact and nobody bothers to fact check it. What most people claim to know about the 4th gen here on 6gc simply isn't true.

I have a 4th gen and I absolutely love it! It spools super fast and gives me everything I want out of this car at the moment. Not sure on what kind of power I'm putting down, but I've been running 16psi on fully stock internals for about a year now as my daily driver.

I think I made it quite clear I wasn't well informed on it. Was a passing observation, not stated as something so factual that the basis of all projects must be changed.

So I suppose I could have not made any post on it, just like you couldn't have become overly critical of a seemingly senseless response....

But the insight on how it truly is weaker, hence the rods, certainly does assist future investors in such an engine.

Prime mr2 swears by the 4th gen. They are the Toyota kings up in my area so if they say 4th than I'd go 4th haha. They say 270-310 is perfect for daily driving with reliability still there. I've heard nothing but good things about the 4th gen. I'd choose power over front end. What's more fun? Hearing turbo kick in or increasing celicas sex appeal? I'd say power. Your Celica looks rather good as is honestly.

Your Celica styling to power ratio isn't quite even. It looks like it goes fast but your no faster than a 2003 sienna soccer mom.

Whatever engine swap you do just make sure it has 200hp +

Why do you need a paint job? Your car looks perfectly fine.

The previous owner had a Maaco paint job. So the clear coat is coming off on the topside of the car.

I've decided to do a swap now. Just looking around for a good deal.

Lol. Nah just engine swap. Drive train swap requires too much fab work that I'm not familiar with.
