Well, trying to replace the rear struts so I can send my old ones out to Koni, and, of course, the lame @ss end link rounds out the Allen socket. *throws up hands in disgust* Whoever designed these should be... *insert torture of your choice*

Looks like now I am going to have to wait until next week to get the last strut out (I did 3 of the 4... of course it was the last one that cr@pped on me), since it will take most of the week to get mine for Toyota.

Needed to vent.

That sucks man. I had a similar experience when I swapped my brakes....I had to cut everything off.

Does missouri put a lot of salt on the roads in the winter? I know that contributed greatly to all of my stuff seizing up. I had that car in kansas for 4 years.

So how does the car handle with 3 new struts and one old one? Kind of 'stock car' style...like running a little bit of wedge. wink.gif

I haven't had the car for very long... couple of months. I drove to Cleveland to get the car, and it is up there in the Great Lakes area. No signs of body rust, but as I get into it, I am finding that a lot of the suspension is rusted. Not terrible, mind you, but potentially very annoying.

*rolls eyes* It is the weirdest handling thing on the planet right now, would be my guess. *Maybe if someone wrapped a Geo Metro around a tree and it somehow still ran it would give me a run for my money, but otherwise....

It isn't really the struts that are giving me the handling greif, it is the bolts. I am running 2 3-dot crash bolts up front, and I haven't cinched them down, because I am wanting them really tight (like 120 ft/lbs or so) so they won't slip. Well, since the nuts and bolts get pretty stressed when you do that, I was just going to drive it to the alignment place and set it once and forget it... but now I can't (won't) get it aligned until I get the struts done. End result is that the car is wandering around because there is SO much play from those bolts. I can turn the wheel 45 degrees either way before the slop comes out of the suspension and the wheels start to turn. It is whacky (kinda fun, I will admit). Not something I would want to count on in an emergency, but hopefully safe until next Monday when I can get all the parts in and get it to an alignment shop. Fun Fun.
