Been a while since I've been on, basically because I've had 26000 trouble free miles.
This week though, had a bit of an issue turning when engine starts. A bit of chirping from the engine bay accompanied this. Then, catastrophe. Leaving work, lost all power steering, heater started blowing cold, rad was boiling after a ten minute emergency drive back home at night, accompanied by battery discharge light and brake warning light, which I assume means brake servo is not running (does it feed off P/S pump?), although I noticed no drop in braking performance. The lack of heat almost seems like head gasket, although I'm wondering if it's a belt issue due to the chirping, and I assume it runs past the alternator and PS pump. Any input would be massively appreciated. |

jeez, do I feel like an idiot. Belt shredded. Should listened to the chirping sound and done something about it. My excuse? Too busy to pop my head into the engine bay.
Hopefully nothing seized up on way home. Don't be a total halfwit like me. If u hear a squeal, pay it some attention. |
