Has anyone ever thought about puting an intercooler on the other end of your intake, assuming you don't have close to the amount of money for a full turbo. Would this put COLD air in to you intake? IF you did do it would you need a filter on the other end of it, or would you just cap it? Weird Idea but maybe there is some horsepower to gain here. Any comments are appriciated!

A cold air intake pretty much does everything you want it to do. A intercooler would pretty much be pointless, as the air going through the intercooler is being cooled by air passing through the front of the intercooler. It wouldn't be taking in any fresh air.

Intercoolers dont work unless you have a turbo.

I used to have a fake intercooler that was just a filter. It really didn't do anything more than a cold air intake.

Intercoolers are only useful for turbo'd cars. Why?

Because the air being compressed by the turbo is heated in the process. The intercooler acts as a radiator to cool this air down before it enters the engine.

Air going into a N/A car is already at an ambient temperature, thus rendering an intercooler useless.

On Ebay they had some of those intercooled intakes for our cars. They took the shell of one, and on one side ran piping up to the throttle body. If you really just want the look then you could do a search for those.
