I got my starter out of my car today and have problem, the housing is cracked and it just looks dead. So I think Ill be better off buying a replacment then having it rebuilt. Im almost positive Im right but want to make sure. Is the starter from a 5s-fe the same as a 3sgte, more importantly will it bolt right up? The reason Im asking is because Id wrather buy a used starter from late model 6th gen then an older mr2. Also is there any generic brands that fit our cars? and whats the price normally? Thanks! And yes I searched and didnt find anything.
When I search carparts.com I get camrys and some lexus models from early 90's that must share the 3sgte starter, do newer vehicles share it aswell? This post has been edited by Uppitycracker: Feb 21, 2004 - 12:50 PM |

car-parts.com is normally pretty good about showing only the right part. I'd guess that the ES250 and Camry starters will fit.
