Heh, still. I mean, it's cool you two guys are alright after what happened, but it just makes me angry when people have really nice cars (cars that are 35-40k) and they're screwing around, then wreck them. Thats how these great cars get rare, and dissapear off the face of the planet...because people are irresponsible drivers. |

Agree with the view that inexperienced kids should not drive such cars.
Consider this though; Would it be better if the "kids" are driving modified Hondas/Integras? Have you ever seen what remains from such a car after an accident. Last year there was an accident in an Integra in my country, which was hit in the side by a Merc at high speed. The car was split in half and the guys in it were killed instantly. Just about a same accident happened to a friend with a 6gc and the people in the car walked away. The car was totalled offcourse but at least it was not split in half and the people in it were not hurt. And by the way, the celi was a 94 import with no airbags. If it had airbags, even the small cut on the head of the passenger would have been avoided. |

I'm glad you're ok dude. But if you look at the design of the 350Z...it kinda does look like a car that would be good in a crash...I dunno maybe it's a vibe it gives off but it looks like it's in a shape that it was meant to roll around. Anyways...
I'm 17 and have bought all of my cars that I've had, starting with the Celica which I paid for $3k of it right away and only owed 2k...which I finished paying off a couple months ago...I also had a 93 RX7 but it got stolen...with the money I got from that I paid off the existing RX7 loan and bought an 87 RX7 and then an 87 Supra...sold both of them and bought the Rex when my loan on the Celica was paid. It's not too hard buy your own stuff, you just need to have a full time job. But very important lesson learned...if someone's going to be an idiot and do something stupid (like passing you or whatever at higher speeds) then don't follow in his/her footsteps and be an idiot too. It's always the second person/group that will get caught/dead. -------------------- 95 Toyota Celica GT

i'm with snadman if someone is doing something really stupid on a public road don't do the same.. cause it's always the second person that gets thier car messed up.... I also think that when parents give their childern cars the should teach them how to drive them the right way... My first car was given to me by my dad so was my second and third... the first one being the most poweful of the 3 (320whp) but my dad didn't hand over the keys to me till he knew for sure i could handle that car if something went really wrong.. Those driving lesson sure have save my life a few times... -------------------- |

I agree with the view that parents who buy cars for their children should make sure they know how to drive it. My father is mechanic but I know very few things about cars myself because he did not want to mees around with cars and not study. So I became a CPA. BUT, he made sure I knew some basic stuff about driving before handing me the keys to my first car.
Just for the record, my birthday present when I turned 12 years old was my first driving lesson. And the lesson kept coming until i was 18 (legal driving age in my country) with various vehicle, at various surfaces and at various speeds. Keep in mind that he insisted teaching me how to drive at 18 when i had 6 months experience of driving army trucks and tanks. I am now 28 and sometimes he still comments on my driving. You see, its o.k. for a parent to care. |

My dad was teaching me how to speed. Very odd on his behalf. Now he complains that i drive too fast. I know it's weird but, i feel safer driving faster than or same speed as traffic. He hates my car. He thinks if i get in a wreck i'll get killed. He wants me to get a Lincoln Grnd Marquise like his, lol.
