Wanting to change out my carpet but the a/c panel is preventing me from removing the shifter panel. Anyone know how to remove it?

The shifter panel is just attached by 4 clips, it should just pull out. Once you do this there are two screws at the bottom of the a/c panel. Take them out and pull lightly from the bottom to the top in sections until all the clips come undone.
That really won't solve anything if your goal is to change the carpet though.

There are two screws on the sides of the ac panal, you need to take those out. Next open your hood, and look for a small black cable comming out of your firewall. It has a small little ruber boot that is also agianst the fire wall. This cable is connected to a small little black box with an arm on it. Once you find it you need to pop off a clip then pull the cable off of the arm. Next you need to find the blue cable it runs down under the dash and ends up right next to your left foot if your were sitting in your car. This cable is also cliped in, just pop it out of the clip and there is a little black cap on another arm that you have to take off. Once you have done all this you just need to disconnect all of the wireing harness from the back of the ac panal and it will come right out.

btw. why are you putting new carpet in, and what color was your old?

Bage. Dunno if I spelled it right. I'd keep it it's just nasty. I bought the car and everything looked clean till I removed the matts and seats. There was fries and coins all over, stains too. Im $1.22 richer now. Thinking of getting all black now or just removing the carpet and washing it. Already hosed down the front and back seat assembly.

Did you take your back seat out? If you did how did you go about taking it out?

Thanks, Ross
