I`m in the process of producing my own induction kit and cold air box set up for my ST205. A couple of questions.
Obviously I`m getting rid of the standard airbox and dumpvalve. Fitting the dumpvalve isnt a problem, but there is a pipe that connects to the top of the airbox Marked as "D" on picture 2 this comes from position "A" on picture 1 Is this the pipe that leads to the wastegate VSV valve that I have seen marked on some repair manual drawings???? Is it possible to connect this to position "C" without causing ant damage as the pipe that leads here normally, is just the breather pipe for the engine "B" which I can just divert and top off with a small filter.
If I`m incorrect with my assumption what is pipe "A" and what can I connect it to?

or basicaly - can I connect point "A" to point "C" and not break my car?

Hope this makes sence, any help will be as always much apreciated.
Cheers folks smile.gif

there should be 2 hoses that go to the intake. one is to help your car idle and the other comes from the valve cover. so as long as you have these two connected to the intake in some way, you should be just fine.
so...yes you should be able to connect a to c.

toyota is funny for putting the bov right on the airbox, lol.

Cheers bud, thanks for that. I`m not gonna attach B to anything, its just a breather pipe for the rocker cover, I`m just gonna vent it to atmosphere via a small breather filter. smile.gif

Thats funny... from your picture I would have guessed that "A" was the PCV rather than it being "B" like you say. But I could very well be wrong... any opinions on that Lagos?

A is the air filter? kind of hard to really tell whats going on from those pics...take off that big topmount IC and we can see whats really going on.

well insanity says that the nipple labled "B" is for positive crankcase ventilation, whereas on our 2nd gen 3s' they are exactly where the nipple labled "A" is. But I guess that could have been moved with the 3rd gen, but even if so I doubt it would be coming from "B"... that looks more like the Idle Air... Kwanza? haha... any help?

Well having spoken to some guys at the gt4oc, one is for something called idle up? the other controls something called a PCV? and they both need to be under vacume so I need to come up with some way of attaching both to the inlet.

Must say I`ve had the best responce from this forum than anyother. cheers guys n gals.

go to your local autoparts store and find the correct size Tee connector. that way you can have the 2 lines hooked up to the one inlet on the intake.
i think thats how Doge has his hooked up...

Yeah take a look at my engine pick... you can see the ugly yellow tubed tee'd into the ugly blue tube that goes back to the intake stream. Let us know how it works out man... good luck.

Well here`s the semi finished job, got rid of the bailey dump valve as I have just realised that when its not sealed shut its actually allowing the engine to suck in unfiltered air while not under boost, not good so I have adapted the standard dump valve and added a filter to it, jobs a goodun. Standard dump valve makes a great lazy tssssshhhhh sound when dumping, much better than the Bailey one.
couple of cold air pipes ducting cold air from in the wing and from under the car, the only places I could find that arnt already filled with radiators or cooling ducts.
airfilter makes a very loud roar when the turbo`s going, maybe a bit too loud, not sure if this setup will remain, a proper cold airbox will be in production soon. Once its done i`ll post the plans up so anyone can copy it.
Thanks for all your help everyone. big thumbs up to you all. Take it easy. I-74

So on your pick number 1, pipe labelled A, as part of the same hardpipes, the one underneath with the see vac line attached, where is it that you have this routed?

Thanks
