AFTER, a very long struggle trying to find the answer, i find it that the BEST solution for the Projector Accent bulb and loom problem for socket replacement would be as followed:
You can use the turn signal lamp socket from a 5th gen celica (but you have to trim down the sides to make it fit right), or easier if your car is equip with the female socket base and loom to connect to the oem lamp park light accent socket, OR you can use the lamp socket for the regular tail lights on the 6gc that has the 194 bulb in it, which I used and worked flawlessly. Although the pattern is a little differ from the patterns as shown on the pics below: 1.) 5GC Signal Light Socket: more wide triangular tips (you'll have to trim it down according to manny) ![]() 2.) 6GC Projector OEM Socket: more rectangular tips ![]() 3.) 6GC Rear Tail 3rd Brake Light Socket: more triangular tips ![]() ![]() The 6GC Rear Tail 3rd Brake Light Socket) fits very tight into the accent light socket location. no need for modification...just simply plug and play. ONLY downside is you have to cut it off from the tail light harness, but at least it is much easier to find! one more final tip....just don't twist too hard as it does not need to be because it is a very tight fit already...don't believe me...just try it out... RESULTS: COMPARISON of the oem socket the projector uses...and the tail light harness socket: ![]() before...original lamp socket base ![]() ![]() after...oem tail light harness with its cut off lamp socket for one of the brake lights used for a much nicer tight fit: ![]() IM SO HAPPY!! ![]() This post has been edited by chacha: Dec 19, 2010 - 5:00 PM |

I'm looking to do this with my USDM lights, I'm guessing I would need to drill out the chrome piece inside the headlight?
I know I will need to cut out the plastic on the back as well |

So anyone attempt this on usdm lights yet? USDM headlights don't have the socket for the 194 bulb, so it would be a complete custom job to mount accent lights in the USDM headlights. However, the early spec JDM headlights (possibly Euro spec as well) have the diffusers like USDM headlights, but have the socket for the accent light. Yea. I was told by Spree that the USDM headlights doesn't have accent lights but I wander if anyone has attempted it yet? I've always wanted to remove my turn signal lights and rewire it into the headlights some how.

I have the Preface JDM ones with the accent lights and you can only really see it when the headlights are off. |

for the accent lights i just bought 194 harnesses from a car parts store, did not want to mess with finding a spare part somewhere.

So another quick question. How or what wire should we wire it to for our USDM cars? The side fender lights?

Bringing this up from the dead as I just got a set of projectors. Would something like this work? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-T10-168-194-282...M1u&vxp=mtr That just might work, mine came with the bulbs so i just cut the oem wires and wired to the ones the projectors came with. If you really want to do a DIY solder a wire from each of the pos. and neg. tabs in the socket, then fill it with silicone. I don't recal if my projectors came with these bulbs or not, Ill have to check. However my OEM lights didn't have accent lights, so I'm thinking if the bulbs are there, Ill just wire them to the side markers or turn signals. -------------------- -Protection mode, For when your amp tries to blow its load. 1995 Toyota Celica GTS - Daily Driver 1999 Chevy Cavalier - Winter Beater 1994 Honda Civic CX Hatchback - Dead My Celica! |

![]() ![]() This is what came with mine. Looks like I've got the the end that make end accepts the bulb, and the female end that would be wired to the car. But As you can see on the right side, the wires have been cut extremely short and cannot be extended. Are these still useable? Or would I be better off just ordering an aftermarket set online? -------------------- -Protection mode, For when your amp tries to blow its load. 1995 Toyota Celica GTS - Daily Driver 1999 Chevy Cavalier - Winter Beater 1994 Honda Civic CX Hatchback - Dead My Celica! |

If u know how to unpin and rewire that's fine or just bring your headlight in and see which harness twists on, that's what I did. Since my fender light is already wired I just tapped into the signal wires on the steady power, and ground.
