Well, I know that the gas tank holds 16 gallons, but I wanted to know how much is in the tank when the warning light comes on to get gas. I flipped through my manual and couldn't find it. (Maybe I'm just blind...)

You guys are WAYYY off smile.gif The check engine light in our cars is super sensative, and I've actually (in an emergency) run a full quarter tank UNDER the last line- That's 3.18 gallons (since by that, a "quarter" of gas is really a 1/5th) under the line, and about 4.77 when the gas light comes on. So when the gas light comes on, you can drive 104.94 miles before you totally run out. So, LA to OC and halfway back smile.gif

Yeah, that warning light comes on really early, but I still freak out everytime it comes on and I don't know why. The most I've ever put in my car is like 13.5 gallons and that was driving a long way after the light came on.

not bad at all.... there is no reason it is.... it is only bad if you run out of gas

the fumes travel into the engine and other areas which could cause an explosion when you start the car.... very slim chance but still a chance

the only bad thing i can see is that the idiot light might burn out faster....

The manual i have in my possession say the following:

Tank capacity of the Celica: 60Ltrs

GT4 on the other hand: 68 ltrs

You see when the Turbo is spooling, which is just about always with me, the fuel dissappears instantly. So the larger tank is needed for sure. A couple of weeks ago I had to refill the tank after only 250km city driving (around 170miles)
Due to the awd taking up space in the rear, the larger tank and the need for large spare tyre due to the 315mm discs, the GT4 has much less space in the trunk and the tank is visible from the back of the car and looks a bit ugly.

Crap sinks to the bottom like any dirt or w/e. Theres not going to be much but its still not great for that car....so letting ur gas tank go really really low isnt good cuz that stuff gets into ur fuel lines.
