USDM Engine Specifications
In the US and Canada, the '94-99 Celica was produced with one of two engines. The ST has the 7A-FE engine, while the GT and the Canadian GT-S have the 5S-FE engine in them. The ST's 7A-FE was modified slightly in 1996 to incorporate OBD II, which is a system to control the engine more completely, so that emissions are better. This change dropped the horsepower by 5 horsepower and increased the torque by 2 lbs.-ft. of torque. The specifications of these engines are below.

1 - In California, the 5S-FE only produces 130 hp@5400 due to emission restrictions.
2 - In 1996 and 1997, the 7A-FE only produces 105 hp@5200 rpm.
3 - In 1996 and 1997, the 7A-FE produces 117 lbs.-ft. of torque@2800 rpm.
